You don't have to be a maths geek to love the elegant Fibonacci spiral. And if you are a maths geek, you'll know that the Fibonacci sequence is a sequence of numbers where each number is the sum of the two before it.
It begins 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21 and continues to infinity. And beyond. You can graph it on squared paper, as shown on the yellow image, to get the beautiful spiral. But it gets EVEN BETTER!
When you get to the higher numbers, if you divide a number by its predecessor, the number you get converges on the constant phi, or approximately 1.61803, otherwise known as the golden ratio. The golden ratio pops up everywhere in nature, the arrangement of petals in a flower, the number of pine nuts in a pinecone, the proportions of the human body. The human mind subconsciously finds beauty in any construction, natural or otherwise, that follows the golden ratio.
And you thought you were just buying a poster....
