This large presentation plate looks like the prettiest most delicate seashell that you'd see on the beach. Pick it up though, and you discover that it is heavy stoneware, with a raw rough uncoloured body underneath, and a smooth inside, graduating from glazed to unglazed, and from a soft green to uncoloured. The shape is irregular too, roughly oval. It's Wabi Sabi interpreted in France and oozing wow factor.
The soft green coordinates beautifully with the colours of the rest of our tableware, as to be expected, as they are all made in the same factory. With 170 years of expertise, Jars Céramistes tableware graces the tables of Michelin-starred restaurants, and this Japanese-influenced range recycles stoneware remnants, slips, water, and heat in its making.
Note that these bowls are made and coloured by hand, so there is a certain amount of variation between the bowls. Chip-resistant, dishwasher-proof, and microwaveable.
This plate is substantial and good for serving, but its also beautiful enough to use as a decorative piece.
